Wonderful wildlife, breathtaking beaches, spectacular sunsets and much, much more!
That’s what the participants from all around the world will be getting when they arrive in Perth Western Australia for the MAC Conference, “Communication -Breaking Down the Barriers” , in April 2010.
Perth is the capital city of Western Australia and is located alongside the peaceful waters of the Swan River, twenty kilometers inland from the Indian Ocean on the west coast of Australia. Perth city has many tourist attractions and offers a range of choices for entertainment, dining and shopping. Just outside the city is the district of Northbridge where there are a range of nightclubs, pubs, cafes and eateries, offering an eclectic mix of cultures and cuisines. Overlooking the city is the beautiful Kings Park which offers a tree top walk, fabulous views of the city and a range of gardens to explore.
The Port city of Fremantle just south of Perth, is a popular spot, particularly at weekends offering markets, entertainment and plenty of alfresco style cafes and eateries. A range of clubs offering a wide variety of different musical styles is a feature of this area.
Just a short ferry ride from Perth or Fremantle is Rottnest Island, a popular holiday destination which offers a very relaxed atmosphere. Walk the beaches, see under the ocean from a glass bottomed boat, ride the island train to the old gun emplacements and meet the Quokka, a unique little marsupial which is responsible for the islands name.
The Swan Valley Region half an hour east of Perth is steeped in history and is one of Western Australia's oldest wine regions. The region is home to more than 40 vineyards, many of which are still run by the original families which started the wineries many years ago. Wine tasting and a chocolate factory as well as numerous craft shops and galleries make this an interesting place to spend a day.
If you enjoy nature and want to immerse yourself in natural Australian bushland, the rolling hills and valleys just outside the city, offer amazing, panoramic views over Perth and a perfect venue for bushwalking or hiking
We invite you to join us for a stimulating, thought provoking Conference where you can spend your free time exploring this wonderful city and its beautiful surroundings. We look forward to welcoming you to Perth.

Weather and Climate
Western Australia has one of the most diverse climates in Australia - from the tropical north to the temperate south - which means equally diverse holiday experiences.
There are also two distinct seasonal variations. In the southern half of the State we observe four seasons - summer, autumn, winter and spring, while in the north there are just two - the 'wet' and the 'dry'.
Perth boasts more sunny days per year than any other Australian capital city so sunshine is usually the standard order.
The warm sun and temperate climate has helped Western Australia cement its reputation as a world-renowned food and wine region, and is also conducive to the State's outdoor lifestyle.
AUTUMN IN PERTH: Autumn begins in March and finishes at the end of May, although autumn in Perth is not typical of autumns most people would be familiar with. Autumn in Perth is like an extension of summer, or perhaps a second spring. With warm sunny days and cooler nights, there is still plenty of sunshine left before the onset of winter. Although the weather is still mostly fine, there may be an occasional shower or humidity.
Daytime temperatures are between 24-27C and overnight minimums 12-15C. |
